About this Study

Welcome to Moonwalking with Dali. Before you begin the trials, please read through this short introduction so you understand what we are doing and why.

This study investigates whether AI-generated imagery can enhance memory when combined with the classical method of loci - an ancient memorization technique based on placing information at specific locations along a familiar mental route.

We want to know: does seeing an AI-generated image that ties a word to a physical location help you remember that word better than simply reading it? And does that advantage hold consistently across different people and different word sets?

You will go through several trials, each time memorizing a list of 30 words under different conditions - some with no imagery support, some with a mental-imagery prompt, and some with an AI-generated image linking the word to a location on our campus. Immediately after each encoding session you will do a recall test. Your scores across conditions are what we compare.

This is not a memory competition. There are no right or wrong results. What matters is that you engage genuinely with each condition - your honest performance is the data.
